Uploaded even newer (1.70.40b) XmlTree diagnostic tool for MSXML with more logging.
If you have been experiencing any MSXML errors when starting Sanctum or DeckBuilder:
- Download the XmlTree tool below.
- Unzip it anywhere (it's just a .exe file). Suggestion: Your Sanctum/Alpha/bin folder.
- Run it.
- Click the Open button. In the pop-up dialog, choose any XML file.Suggestion: Sanctum/Alpha/Cache/Sanctum Messages.xml.
- If it reports any errors, find its log file (located in the same folder as its .exe file). E-mail the log file to us at bugs@nioga.net.
- If it works correctly, then it displays the contents of the XML file in the tree control in the lower half.

If you already have 1.70.39 or higher:
1. Download the 1.70.41 zip.
2. Unzip it to your 1.60 folder.
You must have the current live build, 1.60.59 (SP8).
1. Download the 1.70.39 Installer.
2. Double-click to run it. Specify your live 1.60 folder (see below).

Beta will be installed “side-by-side” with your Live version.

You can play both Live and Beta versions concurrently. They don't affect each other.

You must already have the current Live version of Sanctum installed.
You must specify exactly the same directory path as your Live 1.60 installation.
By default, this is C:\Program Files\NIOGA\Sanctum\.

The Beta installer automatically puts most Beta files into a Beta\ subfolder under the folder you specify.
The Beta installer is too small (only 4.5 MB) to be a stand-alone release (20 MB). Beta expects to find the rest of its resource files, especially graphics and sounds, from your Live version of Sanctum. This is why you must put it in the same folder as your Live version.

How to Launch Sanctum Beta

Shortcut. Start/Programs/Sanctum Revolutions/Sanctum_BETA or DB_BETA.
Direct. Go to the Beta\ folder in your Sanctum installation folder, and double-click the Sanctum.exe or DeckBuilder.exe in this folder. Note: These .exes must remain in a folder named Beta! You may move the entire Beta folder around, if you like.
